Halloween in Epsom 2026: Hobbledown's first pumpkin event runs to 1 November from £16.50, Hocus Pocus at the Playhouse on 26 October, and three trails nearby.

Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October 2026, at the end of the second week of Surrey’s two-week half term. The biggest thing in Epsom itself this year is new: Hobbledown on Horton Lane is running its first pumpkin event, with thousands of pumpkins on its front lawn, until Sunday 1 November.

Below is what is actually on, taken from each organiser’s own page on 3 October 2026, with prices where they publish them. Nothing here is carried over from last year without saying so.

The quick answer

  • In Epsom: Hobbledown’s pumpkin event, until 1 November. Included in a day ticket, £16.50 online or £19 on the gate; pumpkins are paid for separately.
  • Halloween show: Hocus Pocus: Live Experience, Epsom Playhouse, Monday 26 October at 1.30pm, from £11.50 for under-16s.
  • Pumpkin trails nearby: Polesden Lacey (£3.50 plus admission) and Bocketts Farm, Fetcham, both through half term.
  • Big theme park: Chessington’s Howl’o’ween, this weekend and next, then daily from 17 October to 1 November, day tickets from £34.
  • No council ghost walks are listed yet. Bourne Hall Museum ran them in 2024; none appear on the council’s 2026 listings.

Hobbledown Epsom: pumpkins until 1 November

Hobbledown calls it “Pumpkins, Play and Family Adventure” and says it is new for 2026. It runs 26 September to 1 November at Hobbledown, Horton Lane, Epsom KT19 8PT.

  • The Field of Orange: the front lawn covered in pumpkins, squashes and gourds. You walk through and choose one.
  • The Pumpkin Shop: where you pay for the pumpkin you picked. Pumpkins are not included in the ticket, and you do not have to buy one. No pumpkin prices are published.
  • Walls of Pumpkins and photo points in the Thinkery.
  • Trick or Treat Trail: collect a Quest Card, find the Hobbledown characters at three stops and get sweets along the way. It runs at weekends and in the school holidays only, is included in the ticket, and Hobbledown describes it as “friendly, not frightening”.
  • Marshmallow toasting by the fire, for a small extra charge on the day.

Tickets. General admission is £16.50 online or £19 walk-up per person, for a dated visit. An open-dated ticket, usable on any one day within a month, is from £26.50. A new “Ultimate Family Ticket” for three to five people, with a meal deal each and a marble per child, is from £95.

Opening times in half term, from Hobbledown’s calendar on 3 October:

Dates Hours
Mon 19 to Thu 22 October 10am to 5pm
Fri 23 to Sun 25 October 10am to 5.30pm
Mon 26 to Fri 30 October 10am to 7pm
Sat 31 October (Halloween) 10am to 5.30pm

Before half term it is closed on Wednesdays (7 and 14 October). The late 7pm closes in the second week of half term are the only evening openings listed.

Getting there. Hobbledown warns that Google Maps can send drivers to its trade entrance: for the guest car park and main entrance, go in by the road alongside David Lloyd. Without a car, the E9 bus runs from stop N on Epsom station approach, about every 30 minutes, taking around 12 minutes.

Hocus Pocus at Epsom Playhouse, Monday 26 October

Hocus Pocus: Live Experience is a Halloween show with the Sanderson Sisters: songs, comedy, games and prizes, aimed at all ages. One performance only, Monday 26 October at 1.30pm, at Epsom Playhouse, Ashley Avenue, Epsom KT18 5AL.

  • £15 standard, £11.50 under-16s, £50 for a family of four with no more than two adults.
  • Meet and greet with the Sanderson Sisters after the show: £10 extra.
  • Every Playhouse ticket carries a £1.50 restoration levy on top.

Polesden Lacey pumpkin trail

The Great Polesden Mystery runs 17 October to 1 November, 10am to 3.30pm, at the National Trust’s Polesden Lacey near Great Bookham. Children follow a trail around the grounds and solve puzzles to find where “the prized pumpkin has been hidden”. It costs £3.50 per person, including the trail sheet and a small prize, and the Trust says “normal property admission also applies” (National Trust).

The Moomins family trail in the garden runs alongside it, from 4 October to 8 November, 10am to 4pm. Admission prices and parking are on our October half term page.

Bocketts Farm, Fetcham

Bocketts Farm Park, Young Street, Fetcham, Leatherhead KT22 9BS, splits half term into two themed weeks, both 10am to 5pm:

  • Little Pumpkins Week, 17 to 23 October, for younger children: a Spooky Stamp Trail, Halloween crafts, discos and the Pumpkin Village.
  • Wizards and Witches Week, 24 October to 1 November: Science and Slime Shows, a Reptile Roadshow, the stamp trail, the Creepy Craft Corner and the Pumpkin Village.

The Pumpkin Village is for games and photos; the farm does not describe it as pick-your-own. Bocketts’ event-day prices are £21.50 for an adult, £23 for a child aged 3 to 17, £20.50 for a two-year-old and £7.50 for a one-year-old; under-ones are free. There is a £1 online booking fee, and the farm says event tickets often sell out, so book ahead. On the day, face painting is £7.50, pony rides £3 and tractor rides £2.

Some listings sites describe entry as free. Bocketts’ own price list does not.

Chessington Howl’o’ween

Chessington World of Adventures, just over the border on the A243, runs Howl’o’ween on 3 and 4 October, 10 and 11 October, and every day from 17 October to 1 November. Day tickets are from £34 per person.

Included: new Halloween shows, Dr Frankenfun’s Haunted House Party, “rides at dusk” and the zoo. Extra: the Stone Watchers: Vampire’s Lair scare zone, from £9 per person, and Enchanted Hollow: Trick or Treat, an underground trick-or-treat village whose tickets, Chessington says, are “available soon”.

Chessington’s website showed 10am to 5pm for today, 3 October, the first Howl’o’ween day. Check the day’s hours before you go if you are counting on the dusk rides.

For grown-ups

Bourne Hall’s monthly Country and Western Social on Friday 23 October, 7.30pm to 10.30pm, comes “with a Halloween twist so pick out your best costumes”. Line dancing with Hillbilly Gill and Frankie Lou, beginners welcome, bar open. £20, over-18s only. Book on Sessami via Bourne Hall.

Ghost walks: not listed for 2026

Bourne Hall Museum has run Halloween ghost walks before. In 2024 the council listed an Epsom Halloween walk from opposite the fire station in Church Street and an Ewell walk from Bourne Hall, three walks a night at £6 a person, booked by phone with the museum.

No 2026 walk is on the council’s What’s On listing or Bourne Hall’s events page (both checked 3 October 2026). We will add one here if it appears. The museum’s number on those listings was 020 8394 1734.
